Oops, one thing I forgot to mention Judy, is that I do pay approx. $50.00 a year, to have my forums ad-free. There is a way where one person pays for it like I do as administrator, or members can contribute to have the forums ad free.

I figured we might need a good laugh today......these caps are from the Woods Hole osprey nest. What a mess! smile.gif
(for those not familiar with osprey, it is known that they are attracted to the color blue).

I just redirected everyone on the BAS Forum over here ... so I'll post here and then over on our regular board.

Good news for Buffalo Peregrine Falcons!

One of our South Grand Island Bridge peregrine chicks fell from its nest for a second time. I contacted Gina over at the SPCA (she's the gal who Andrew and I worked with to get a group of individuals brought to justice with regard to torturing rabbits a few years back). Gina emailed the good news about the chick as well as news on Handsome who disappeared during the 2008 season and was thought to be deceased but was found severely injured on a sidewalk in Amherst (a suburb of Buffalo) on June 9th. Gina's news and pictures biggrin.gif ...
Hi, Chris!! Thanks for your note, and please give Andrew (and Boots too!!!) a big hello from me!!! The chick did, in fact, make his way back to the SPCA mere hours after he was replaced in the nest. He is still here now, doing very well (eating very well, too!) , and will be transferred tomorrow or early next week to a local facility for ongoing care and, most likely, release. And on a SECOND falcon note - the story that will be going up on our site tomorrow (or hopefully today, depending on how the day goes!) - the Statler falcon was stabilized enough to undergo surgery yesterday, and so far so good...! He ate very well after surgery, is trying to move around today....things seem great so far, and we're all optimistic. Here are a couple of the post-surgery photos I took yesterday that will be posted. Thanks again! Gina

I just used my bookmark for the Maine forum - and got an add for hostingphpbb - so I'm guessing the Maine forum is down.

Got the same message when I tried the old Norfolk forum - another sign that the problem is with hostingphpbb.

Figured I'd post to refresh the thread - took me a while to find it as it had timed out. wink.gif

Hi Judyb, Have you tried this link?

http://www.hostingphpbb.com/forum/index.php?mforum=tdbc

I think that the link in the Topic Notifications doesn't work properly if you are not at your regular computer or if you have cleared all your cookies. I know that when I am travelling I have to make sure I carry the above link with me in order to get back into the Forum. Let me know if it works. I don't think the phpbb forums are down at the moment.

Laura

Thanks, laurad, but I still get the smiling face of their promo person. It could be I need to clear my cache or reboot or something - but as I should get back to work, I think I'll wait until tonight. Glad to hear it's my computer and not the forum - though I do hope Judy will be able to get the data copied to someplace more reliable eventually.

Thanks again! smile.gif
